BEST OF THE 80s

The 80s began as the 70s had left off – most Electronic Music was either Ambient, Industrial, Electro or Disco. As the decade progressed however, new styles and genres emerged. New Wave, which had begun in the late 70s, gradually morphed into Synth-pop and this began to take over the mainstream charts. The 80s ended with a bang with the arrival of Acid House. This sound dominates the TWGEEMA charts for 1988 and 1989 in particular.
